Learning Intention: I am learning to divide a number into equal groups and make connections.
Wally's Wonderful Wheel Emporium has a problem. Sales are down for bicycles, tricycles and cars. Wally is calling all mathematicians to design posters promoting division into groups of two, three or four. Can you help?
Task: Choose a bicycle, tricycle or car. Choose a number of wheels for your category. Model how many vehicles you can have for your number of wheels. Record the turn-around. Record a number line that shows skip counting. Record repeated addition for your number of vehicles. Record any other connections you know.
How will you know if you are successful in dividing the wheels?
Success Criteria: Choose a number that you can work successfully with. Each group of wheels will have the same number. Count the number of groups. Publish your thinking so others can understand your thinking.
